As school went back into session, the students at AE/MS had their first assembly of the year. It was an opportunity to get to know their new principal, Kelly George, and start the year off with music and excitement.

After Mrs. George introduced herself, staff members led the students in the AE/MS song before receiving a visit from Ernie the Eagle. While these two activities have become the traditional start to the school assemblies, they are still always met with excitement and cheers.
The assembly moved forward as Molly Kidane, the school’s math interventionist, led the students in a game of “Two Truths and a Lie,” to get to know Mrs. George a little better. As it turns out, she spent some time in London and was also the MVP of her high school softball team, but she most certainly didn’t have her own cooking show in VT…much to the surprise of some of the teachers given all the cooking she did for them for the welcome back breakfast.

The assembly wrapped up with some prizes from last year’s middle school reading BINGO challenge and demonstrations on air molecules by science teacher Ryan Murphy. This year is off to a great start!
