Library Support Organization Urges Residents to Become a “Friend”

"Libraries Need Friends" kick-off event, October 3

By Sheila Swenson

The new Friends of the Andover Libraries Association invites you to the “Libraries Need Friends” kick-off event on Thursday, October 3, at 6:30 PM, in the Andover Town Office meeting room. We look forward to our guest speaker, Library Director Michaela Hoover’s presentation of her current and future plans for programs and initiatives and how Friends could make our libraries even stronger through your support and participation.

We believe that our two libraries are a vital asset, as both literary and social centers that enrich our community. The Friends group will work closely with Michaela and our Library trustees to provide much needed volunteer support, as well as financial assistance through an annual membership contribution. Our assistance will support and enhance the libraries’ resources,  programs, and activities, and provide for some of the needs of our library director’s “wish list.”

We look forward to seeing you at our kick-off event on October 3. For additional information, email us at libraryfriendsgroupandover@nullgmail.com. We hope you will sign up to become a charter member of our newly formed association.

Libraries Need Friends — Let’s empower our libraries by joining with other interested persons in our community by becoming Friends of the Andover Libraries.
