Kayak, Canoe, and Picnic with ASLPT at Baptist Pond

July 23 paddle past two conservation easements

Press release

Beth McGuinn, Land Protection Specialist for Ausbon Sargent Land Protection Trust (ASLPT), will lead a kayak/canoe tour of over a mile of conserved shoreline on the 83-acre Baptist Pond in Springfield on Tuesday, July 23, from 4 to 6:30 PM.

Beth and the participants will paddle by the two conservation easements donated by the Baptist Pond Trust and the Star Lake Farm conservation easement which together represent 53% of the total pond frontage. In addition, from the pond we will have a view of the conserved uplands that includes wildlife habitat ranked among the highest in the state by the New Hampshire Wildlife Action Plan.

There will be much to see and talk about on this excursion. Participants will meet at Baptist Pond (more details will be provided when you sign up) with their own kayak/canoe, paddles and life jackets. The plan will be to end the day by “rafting up” for a BYO picnic dinner while we float on this scenic pond.
