Rest of the Town Report: Andover Service Club

The Andover Service Club (ASC), an organization consisting of dedicated ladies from Andover, East Andover, Wilmot, Danbury, New Hampton, Canterbury, New London, Franklin, Hill, and Springfield, meets the second Wednesday of the month. These ladies are volunteers who believe in service to the community. Meetings consist of business reports, a special program, and refreshments.

Fundraising events are held to raise money for the ASC Merit Scholarship Fund as well as community organizations such as The Andover Beacon, Andover Food Pantry, AE/MS, Andover and Bachelder Libraries, East Andover Village Preschool, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Kearsarge Area Council On Aging, Highland Lake Grange Hall Restoration, Child and Family Services, Danbury School, and Friends of the Northern Rail Trail. The ASC Thrift Shop, which sells clothing and accessories, is the major source of income.

Look for the ASC table on Town Meeting Day. We will be selling hot lunches, baked goods, coffee, and tea. Meet ASC members and learn about our organization.

Coming events are a field trip to Haunting Whisper Winery in Danbury, “Slices for Scholarships” on the Fourth of July, a bake sale in September at “Rail Trail Run and Ride,” hot lunch on Election Day in November, the annual Thanksgiving Pie Sale, and others to be announced.

New members (young and old) are always welcome. The next meeting is March 12 at the Masonic Lodge in Potter Place at 10 AM. E-mail Mary Ofenloch, President, at MaryO.ASClub@nulllive.com.
