Franklin Footlight Theatre proudly presents the ageless and energetically funny comedy Arsenic and Old Lace by Joseph Kesselring at the Franklin Opera House, 316 Central Street (Franklin City Hall). There will be four performances only: Thursday, March 20, through Saturday, March 22 at 7:30 PM, and a Sunday, March 23 matinee at 2 PM. Ticket prices are $14 for seniors (over 55) and students; $16 for adults, and can be purchased in advance through the Opera House Web site at FranklinOperaHouse.org or by calling the box office at 934-1901.

The production features the talents of Jennifer Simpson, Doug Embree, Ben Heath, Robbie LaFlamme, Sean Jordan, Suzanne Banister, Jennifer Creasey, Colin Malette, Peter Heath, Gary Evans, Howard Amsden,  John Masse, Paul Smith, and Vince Ribas. Also contributing their artistic skills are Chris Schroeder and Amanda Chance designing and building the Victorian set, Lori McGinley costumes, Sue Bitteto props, Dan Darling lighting design, Mark Bitteto stage managing, and Leigh Webb, producing and directing. With this assemblage of dedicated thespians, craftspersons, and artists, the show has got to be a hit!

This wonderful 1940s comedy is an hilarious play of nobly motivated but somewhat misguided (and definitely illegal) deeds of two lovable sisters, complemented and complicated by the quirky personalities of the entire family. The show’s timeless humor and familiar story will be sure to appeal to a broad spectrum of patrons who understand the value of community-based entertainment and its ability to showcase understated talent.

Community Theatre is alive and well in Franklin, and Footlight Theatre’s production of Arsenic and Old Lace will be a triumph! Come be part of an evening of laughter in a venerable venue March 20 through 23.
