LRGHealthcare Seeks Reiki Volunteers

Must be Level 2 certified

Press release

LRGHealthcare is actively seeking Reiki practitioners for our new Volunteer Reiki program. Reiki is a non-intrusive healing technique that complements medical treatment. LRGHealthcare will proudly offer Reiki services in our Hematology/Oncology Unit, Surgical Services at Lakes Region General Hospital and Franklin Regional Hospital, and upon request.

Reiki can activate the body’s natural ability to heal. Beneficial effects include a sense of relaxation, relief of pain and muscle tension, and a feeling of peace and well-being. Reiki treatment is given through gentle touch or no touch. While patients relax, the Reiki practitioner places their hands on the energy centers in the body and transfers positive energy. As energy is transferred, patients may feel warmth, coolness, gentle tingling, or deep relaxation.

LRGHealthcare volunteer services is searching for compassionate, caring, and reliable volunteers to become Reiki volunteers. Reiki volunteers must be at least Level 2 Reiki certified and at least 18 years of age or older. Volunteer shifts are available seven days; we will work with you to find the best hours to fit your schedule.

If you’re interested in this great volunteer opportunity, please contact LRGHealthcare Volunteer Coordinator Darcy Peary at 737-6720 or DPeary@nullLRGH.org.
