The Wilmot Historical Society will host a living history program, Meet Eleanor Roosevelt, from 2 to 3:30 PM on Sunday, May 3, at the historic Wilmot Town Hall in Wilmot Center.

Supported in part by the New Hampshire Arts Council, this program features Elena Dodd portraying Eleanor Roosevelt during her years as a mother and first lady from 1905 through 1945. Admission is complimentary and open to the general public. The program will begin at 2 PM sharp, so come early to browse the Curiosity Shop offerings, renew your membership, enjoy light refreshments, and schmooze with friends.

Elena Dodd’s portrayal of Mrs. Roosevelt is an intimate and informative depiction of the extraordinary life of an extraordinary woman. The program offers a frank and often humorous look at the struggles and personal fulfillment of a shy young woman who metamorphosed into a strong voice for social justice and universal human rights and was witness to the tumultuous events of her day. As first lady, Eleanor Roosevelt became a leader and a revolutionary and a champion to the powerless.

The Wilmot Town Hall is located just off Route 4A on North Wilmot Road next to the Wilmot Public Library in Wilmot Center. Please join us for an entertaining Sunday afternoon. The Wilmot Historical Society’s Curiosity Shop will be selling its historical publications and providing membership information.
