Lake Sunapee VNA Offers Flu Shots in Andover

Clinic on September 8 at the Town Hall

Press release

On Thursday, September 8, from 10 AM to noon, Lake Sunapee Region VNA and Hospice (LSRVNA) will hold a community Flu Clinic at the Andover Town Hall for individuals over 18 years of age. LSRVNA will bill Medicaid, Medicare, and Medicare Replacement Plans. Please bring your ID card(s). If paying with cash or check, the cost is $30.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends a yearly flu vaccine for everyone six months of age and older as the first and most important step in protecting against this potentially serious disease. CDC further suggests getting vaccinated soon after the flu vaccine becomes available, if possible by October, to ensure that as many people as possible are protected before flu season begins.

However, as long as flu viruses are circulating in the community, it’s not too late to get vaccinated. It takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies to develop in the body and provide protection against the flu.

For more information, call LSRVNA at 526-4077.  For a complete calendar of Flu Clinics (and other clinics and events), visit LakeSunapeeVNA.org/Calendar.
