Upcoming events from Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust (ASLPT) include:
Kearsarge Klassic Bike Randonnee on Saturday, September 10. With several different route lengths to choose from, each bringing riders by an assortment of our protected properties, the Kearsarge Klassic continues to be one of the most successful fundraisers for Ausbon Sargent and attracts riders from many surrounding states.
This year we are adding a new 70-mile route to allow riders to enjoy the northern and very scenic portion of the course without committing to riding the 106-mile course. To register for the ride or to find out more information, visit BikeReg.com/kearsarge-klassic-dirt-road-randonnee-pre-registration-only
Easement Monitoring Refresher on Thursday, September 15, from 3 to 4 PM. To fulfill our land trust obligations, we monitor each of our easement properties at least one time per year. Although some of our easement monitors are seasoned veterans, it never hurts to refresh the skills and goals we use to monitor effectively.
This is a brief session reviewing the use of compasses and understanding the paperwork involved; it can usually be accomplished in an hour. Please register by Tuesday, September 13, at KHeath@nullAusbonSargent.org or 526-6555.
Supporting Pollinators in the Landscape, a UNH Cooperative Extension Workshop, on Thursday, September 22, at 6:30 PM at the Wilmot Community Association’s Red Barn. Amy Papineau, UNH Cooperative Extension, will discuss the many types of bees that you may find in your landscape; the role of these insects in the environment; and how you can design your garden and landscape to provide pollinators with the resources they need.
This is a free workshop, and refreshments are provided. Please register by Tuesday, September 20, at KHeath@nullAusbonSargent.org or 526-6555.
