Bank of America Charitable Foundation Donates to Andover Service Club

Press Release
Nancie Jacobson (on right) presented ASC President Mary Ofenloch with a $500 check from Bank of America in support of Nancie’s volunteer work.

For many years, in order to honor their employees who give their time and service to causes important to them, the Bank of America (BOA) Charitable Foundation awards volunteer grants to eligible charitable organizations. BOA matches their employees’ time in community volunteer service with a monetary contribution.

Two years ago, new Andover resident Nancie Jacobson, a BOA Vice President, stopped into the Andover Service Club (ASC) Thrift Shop on School Street, where she met an ASC volunteer who was working at the shop. After a friendly conversation about the ASC, the volunteer asked Nancie if she would like to become a member, which she did.

As an ASC volunteer, Nancie works at the Thrift Shop, at the July 4 “Slices for Scholarships” table on the Town Green, and other varied events throughout the year. Last year Nancie donated 100 hours to the ASC, and BOA donated $500 to the ASC in Nancie’s name. BOA encourages their employees to get involved in their communities. In fact, the bank allows employees to take time from work for this purpose.

The members of ASC extend our sincerest gratitude to Nancie for her dedication and service. We also wish to thank BOA for their many years of support for the volunteer work of their employees, and the communities and organizations which they serve.
