Dance Ensemble ‘Encore’

Friday, Dec. 1, 7 p.m. in the Sawyer Theater, Sawyer Fine Arts Center

Directed by adjunct faculty member Laura Dunlop Shepherd, the one-act show features original choreography in genres ranging from classical ballet, jazz and contemporary to modern and hip hop. Gallery Talk: Inner Visions

Beverly Stearns Bernson ’55 and Professor Bert Yarborough, gallery director, discuss the Center for Art + Design’s inaugural exhibition, Inner Visions. The show features selections from Bernson’s collection of some of the most highly regarded outsider artists in the world. Free.

Phosphorous Inputs in New London’s Sewerage System

World War I Exhibition

The Cleveland Colby Colgate Archives, in conjunction with the town of New London, presents an exhibit of materials commemorating the centennial of the United States’ involvement in WWI. Science Pub Series: Oceans Rising

Thursday, Dec. 14, 6 p.m. in Galligan’s Pub, Lethbridge Lodge

Adventures in Learning presents a discussion on the impact of sea level change with Dr. Charles Kellogg. Dr. Kellogg, a career educator formerly at Colby-Sawyer and most recently at Kearsarge Regional High School, earned his Ph.D. from Duke University specializing in biological/geological oceanography. Galligan’s Pub opens at 5:30 p.m., with the presentation and discussion beginning at 6 p.m. Food and beverage will be available for purchase. The Eleventh Annual New London TubaChristmas

Saturday, Dec. 16, 2 p.m. in Wheeler Hall, Ware Student Center

Created in 1974 as a tribute to tuba player and teacher William Bell, the first TubaChristmas was held in New York’s Rockefeller Plaza and has grown to more than 250 locations worldwide. The New London TubaChristmas, led by Aarne Vesilind, features tuba, sousaphone, euphonium and baritone horn musicians playing Christmas carols, first with instruments only and then with the audience singing along. The Nutcracker

The Kearsarge Conservatory of the Performing Arts presents their unique version of the beloved holiday ballet featuring regional talent of all ages.
