Anyone for tea?  Our first event marking Salisbury’s 250th Birthday will be a Tea Party on Sunday, April 29, 2PM at the Town Hall.  Enjoy tea and tasty bites while you visit with friends and neighbors. You will also hear the reading of touching love letters between Esther Diamond and E.F. Delancey of Salisbury from the 1850s, courtesy of the Salisbury Historical Society.

The cost will be $10 per person.  Reservations are recommended and may be made by calling Judy Elliott at 648-6469 or Nancy Hayden at 648-2766.  This event is in memory of Mary Phillips, longtime curator of the Salisbury Historical Society.

This event is for adults only; children will have their own Tea Party at the Salisbury Free Library on July 26.

Look for opportunities to purchase Sestercentennial memorabilia around town as the weather improves.   Commemorative license plates, calendars, medallions and wearables including T-shirts, hats and aprons will be available for purchase.  We also have very useful tote bags and kitchen towels, all with our 250th design.

Here’s another chance to show your support for your town:  A Welcome Wagons Competition! Find some sort of wagon, maybe your old Radio Flyer, or other creative container and decorate it as you see fit over the summer.  Prizes will be awarded at the end of summer.
