Thanks are due to the voters who turned out to vote and were gracious to all of the election workers. The Andover Elementary/Middle School community also deserves our gratitude. Their day was upended as the school became a polling station.
Parents and students needed to make alternate plans for the day. The administration, faculty, and staff bent over backward to help the election team prepare, set up, run an election, and clean up afterward.
The Select Board, the Town Clerks, and the Supervisors of the Checklist were tremendously helpful in making sure things ran smoothly. Absentee ballots, checklists, and the official documents were well prepared and processed.
Finally, a huge debt of gratitude is owed to the over 50 volunteers who worked as greeters, ballots clerks, ballot counters, and data entry teams. Election Day was as close to perfect as can be.
There are times when I am especially proud to be from Andover. Seeing so many in our community come together to serve the common good on September 10 was one of those times. Thank you to all involved.
