In order to clear out stock to make way for Spring inventory, various craft vendors at the Winter Farmers’ Market are having their first-ever End of Winter “White Sale.”
Some of the items on special are:
Sally’s Choice Jewelry is offering 20% off dragonfly and seahorse pendants, and Newfound Farm’s tunics are 50% off. This is an opportunity to pick up mittens, hats, dresses, and jewelry at great prices!
Although produce, meat, and bakery items are excluded, be sure to shop downstairs for your regular grocery items.
Come early, and have an Egg McGrange breakfast at Bistro de L’ Etoille Enflamme, so you don’t lose out on the bargains. Corn chowder and pasta and meatballs are on the Bistro lunch menu, with another decadent dessert to enjoy with coffee.
The market is from 9 AM to 1 PM at the Blazing Star Grange Hall, located on North Road, just off the intersection of Routes 4 and 104, in Danbury.
For information, or to enroll in the Freebie-Demo opportunity, call Donna at 768-5579.
St. Patrick’s Day Dinner
If you shop at the Grange’s downstairs food market, you’ve got a chance to put together a really special March 17 dinner!
Here’s a suggested menu, all from the Grange’s vendors:
- Lamb Stew (farm raised hormone- and antibiotic-free stew lamb from Autumn Harvest)
- Irish Stout Mustard as a savory (Nannie’s Canning Pantry)
- Purple potatoes and other veggies (Autumn Harvest Farm)
- Irish soda bread (Huntoon Farm)
- Milk and eggs, too! (from Huckins’ Farm Jersey and Guernsey cows)
- White chocolate shamrocks (Nancy’s Chocolates)
- Malbec wine (Haunting Whisper vineyard)
Take pictures of your dinner, and let the vendors know how much you enjoyed their hard work! Pictures can be displayed at the April market. Send them to Phyllis@nullNewfoundFarm.org. Look for them in the Bistro downstairs.
