Town News - News - American Legion - Food Drive - PosterThe American Legion Crosby-Gilbert Post 101 of Andover is sponsoring a non-perishable food drive to support the Andover Food Pantry. Food will be collected by members of the post at the Andover Transfer Station on Wednesday, September 9, from 7 AM to 2 PM, and again on Saturday, September 12 from 7 AM to 4 PM.

Any non-perishable food items are helpful for the pantry, as long as their dates haven’t expired. But particularly helpful are the very basic canned goods like tuna, beef stew, canned spaghetti or ravioli, spaghetti sauce, corn, green beans, and baked beans. Peanut butter and jelly and breakfast cereals are also popular items. Avoid glass jars if you can.

Post 101 continues to grow, adding recent veterans and active-duty military to its membership. The post meets on the third Tuesday of the month – September 15 this month – at 7 PM at the Andover Fire Station on Main Street.
