I spent a rainy day this month on Facebook trying to find every Andover club or organization I could. No, it’s not my idea of a good time, but Tom Hilton, the Beacon’s social media volunteer, is doing such a great job with the Beacon’s Facebook page (Facebook.com/AndoverBeacon) that I thought it was time to look around and see what other Andover-related resources Facebook offers. Quite a lot, it turns out.
(I started with clubs and organizations just because that’s where the Beacon fits in. I hope to look for Andover businesses on the next rainy day and will report back on what I find.)
The list below covers, in brief and in their own words, what I found on Andover Facebook pages and groups that have posted within the past year or so. I was pleased to see how well the warp and weft of our community is represented in this major social media platform.
