Through the Reading Glasses, July 2022

By Janet Moore

These three books will guarantee a more positive outlook on life as the summer season begins: “Just Help! How to Build a Better World” by Sonia Sotomayor

“The Welcome Chair” by Rosemary Wells

“Moonshot: Inside Pfizer’s Nine-Month Race to Make the Impossible Possible” by Dr. Albert Bourla.

Dr. Bourla’s book is about the race to create the COVID vaccine in co-operation with BioNTech, as he stresses inspiration and leadership. Associate Justice Sotomayor’s picture book is all about the ways we can all contribute to making our neighborhoods better places. Rosemary Wells relates the story of a chair welcoming new members into the community going back several generations.

The Fourth of July Book Sale in the Stone Chapel really will be bigger and better this year, because we have three, count ‘em, three years of donations to offer the public. Come one, come all, and get a head start as an Andover resident by coming in on the evening of Sunday, July 3, from 5 to 7 PM.

The sale continues the next morning with the doors opening at 7 AM (good grief) and closing at 2 PM, when we will be re-packing for left over pick-up the following morning. Support your Libraries on the Fourth!
