Long-Serving Members of FNRT Honored

Charles Martin and Chris Norris, both of New London

Press release

Congratulations are in order! Charles Martin and Chris Norris, both New London residents and long-serving members of the Friends of the Northern Rail Trail (FNRT) Board of Directors, have been honored by the FNRT Board for their outstanding service.

On November 15, the two were named FNRT’s first Directors Emeriti. This new category of service gives leaders of the 100 percent volunteer organization the opportunity to call upon them for advice and historical perspective going forward.

In terms of service to FNRT, Chris led the trail maintenance effort for many years, managing numerous projects including clearing brush, repairing bridges and culverts, remedying trail erosion, and taking leadership of Recreational Trails Program grants. Charles has served as Treasurer, grant writer, author of the definitive rail trails book, New Hampshire Rail Trails, and is founder of the New Hampshire Rail Trails Coalition.
