Kearsarge Area Chamber of Commerce Supports Beacon’s Expansion

May Schedule of events in three-mountain region

By Dan Watts

The Kearsarge Area Chamber of Commerce supports The Beacon’s goal to provide interesting articles and advertisements for the entire region encompassing all three mountains: Kearsarge, Sunapee, and Ragged. We hope you have enjoyed these three months of great reading. We encourage you to consider a subscription at only $49 annually, delivered to you monthly. If you are a business, we encourage you to consider several subscriptions, so that your patrons can benefit from your support.

May Happenings in the region:
Rue Bakers Pet Supply and Reeds North are sponsoring our May Member Mingle, on
May 2 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. All are welcome to come on out and check out this unique and welcome Pet Supply store at 896 Main Street in Contoocook. While you are there, enjoy refreshments provided by the talented Reeds North team.

On Saturday, May 4, at 4 PM : Pillsbury Free Library Book Nook youth theater group presents “Sleepy Hollow” directed by Susan Matott and Chris Martiello. Warner Town Hall.

Price of admission is a donation for the Warner Food Pantry (cash or items).

The annual Spring into Warner festival is May 18, 9 AM to 3 PM. The festival showcases area artisans and craftspeople all along Main Street in Warner. This festival includes music, dance performances, and ponies, as well as the Warner area Farmer’s Market.

Do you know a golfer? Please pass along a warm welcome to the first annual Beacon Golf  Tournament, on Monday, May 20, at the Country Club of New Hampshire, Kearsarge Valley Road in North Sutton. Registration required! Grab a few friends and come on out for a great time on the green, supporting the Beacon!

Our directory of members has just been reprinted, complete with 184 members supporting the Kearsarge mountain area.  You can look for them at your local library or town hall, as well as at these locations:
Contoocook: Contoocook Railroad Museum, Riverside Pizza, and Witching Hour Provisions.
Warner: at the Cafe One East, Reed’s North, and Market Basket.

We are looking for volunteers from each town to coordinate distribution of the brochures to common areas in each town. Contact us if you are interested in helping to connect your town with our chamber activities. You do not have to be a member or business in order to volunteer a little of your time to help out.
